Attractions

Timmins has a number of attractions to keep families, groups and individuals busy during their time in Timmins.  The Timmins Museum: National Exhibition Centre has just opened up in its new location on the grounds of the Timmins Underground Gold Mine Tour.  Come travel through time and get a glimpse into the rich history of our community.

The Timmins Underground Gold Mine Tour is an authenic underground experience that sees former miners take you through the former Hollinger Mine.  You will not only learn about the life of miners back in the early days of Timmins but you will see your guide operate actual machinery, you will pan for gold and you will visit the last remaining Hollinger House, that was built by the mine to accommodate the miners and their families upon their arrival to Timmins.

The Shania Twain Centre offers a behind the scenes look into the life and career of our very own recording superstar, Shania Twain.  Filled with mementos from her career and her personal life, the Shania Twain offers a rare glimpse into Shania’s life through exhibits, multimedia displays and a theatre presentation.

Cedar Meadows Wilderness Park is a unique attraction that highlights many species not typically found in local or regional parks/zoos.  Among other animals you will see are elk, bison and you might even get to feed a moose.
