The first annual “Great Canadian Soap Box Derby” will take place in Timmins on June 16th and 17th 2006.

This exciting new event will follow in the tradition of the All American Soap Box Derby in Akron, Ohio that draws thousands of young participants and supporters from throughout the U.S. There are currently no fully sanctioned races in Canada and it is our objective to make the Great Canadian Soap Box Derby in Timmins THE national championship for Canada on a yearly basis.

Great Canadian Soap Box Derby Ready To Roll (2007/5/30) Organizers of the Great Canadian Soap Box Derby held a press conference earlier today to provide an update on the event to be held on Saturday June 16th in Timmins. Over 100 racers are expected to register for the Derby prior to the registration deadline at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13th.
